Dancing With The Stars: Week 4

Last night's Dancing With the Stars was full of energetic and powerful performances.  It seems that each couple brought their A game, especially as many of the pros were out of their comfort zones choreographing routines for unfamiliar dance styles.

Seems that the strategy for picking difficult or more obscure dances for their opponents backfired, as everyone really stepped up to perform beautifully.  Even with a few wobbles here and there, the dances were phenomenal to watch.

The ones that really stood out for me were Gille, Melissa, Shawn and Emmitt.  Watching Gille and Peta perform the Bollywood dance was just enthralling.  It was as if Aladin came to life and truly deserved the first 10's of the season!

I was audibly gasping with each trick and lift that Melissa and Tony executed perfectly.  The Jitter Bug was the perfect dance style for them and I agree that his choreography has been exceptional this year!

Shawn and Derek continued to wow with their Mambo!  Fittingly, they tied for first with three 10's of their own.  I cannot wait to see what they do each week - it is always spectacular!

Emmitt and Cheryl's Bollero was simply breathtaking!  I am astonished that he can move so beautifully and still look like an amazingly athletic man.  I am now convinced that "Twinkle Toes" is the perfect nickname for him since he seems to sweat glitter...he always sparkles when he's done dancing!

I will be curious to see who leaves this week.  As much as I adore Bristol and enjoy Kirstie, I'm afraid that neither one is quite at the same level as the rest of the competitors.  They do have huge fan bases, however,  which may keep them in for a few more weeks.

Kelly has really started to make an impression with her dance skills, but I'm not sure she has the same fan base as some of the others to keep her going for the long haul.  It would be a shame to see her leave before Bristol or Kirstie, because I do think she is the better dancer.  That said, I predict she may be the next to go.
